What do I need before you can construct my building pad?
Before starting earthwork, you will need your property lines marked, a rough layout or site plan showing where the structure will sit, and building dimensions from your contractor or home builder. If your site requires clearing, driveway access, or septic work, we can handle those alongside your pad preparation.
Why is proper soil compaction so important for a building pad?
A foundation is only as stable as the soil beneath it. Poorly compacted dirt or loose fill can settle over time, causing cracked concrete slabs, structural shifting, and costly foundation damage. We use controlled soil lifts and a dedicated sheepsfoot compaction roller to ensure the ground is solid from the bottom up before any concrete is poured.
What is a sheepsfoot roller and why do you use it?
Unlike smooth rollers or heavy equipment tracks that only press the top surface of the dirt, a sheepsfoot roller has tapered steel feet that penetrate deep into each layer of soil. It kneads and packs the earth under concentrated pressure, removing hidden air pockets throughout the fill.

Most residential building pads take anywhere from 1 to 4 days depending on site clearing needs, soil conditions, slope steepness, and the amount of fill required. We provide a clear project timeline with your initial estimate.
